Amid Lockdown illegal boulder extraction goes unabated on Sukhnag Nallah

Taking advantage of current lockdown in valley the illegal extraction of boulders from Nallah Sukhnag in central kashmir’s Budgam district is going on unabated. Such illegal practice according to locals is going on at Arwah Beerwah, Where various number of tractors are being loaded with boulders on daily basis and unloaded at different destinations.
Pertinently, government has imposed ban on extraction of boulders in streams owing to the threat to agricultural land.”Those people through this act have created such a depth of This nallah to our fields a group of people from the area told KNS.
Another Resident Manzoor Ahmad said “Sukhnag is worst hit by extraction as no of tractors per day extract boulders in broad light, We were surprised why the administration is not looking into this issue.”
while talking Kns correspondent on this issue District Officer Geology And mining department Budgam Mr Faisal Masood sahab said “due to lack of man power we can not reach every place where this type of illegal activity happens but still we have noted it i will look into this matter and will take action.” (KNS)
