A 16-year old teenager was found ‘murdered’ under mysterious circumstances from a pool in Doribal Qaziabad wooden area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday morning. The family, however, demanded swift probe and identification of killers.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a pall of gloom descended on Hajibal village after body of a teenager reached home who had gone missing few weeks before. As per local reports, Ashiq Hussain Bhat son of Hussain Bhat of Hajibal Baramulla had gone with his aunt as guest to her maternal home in Hunoora Rafiabad on July 6 and went missing mysteriously.
“We received a call from Hanoora who informed us that Ashiq has left the place but he had not returned back. We got worried and conducted searches everywhere but of no avail. Then we approached local police station and lodged a missing report who later on initiated investigations”, family told.
“On July 22, PS Dangiwacha informed us that the body of the missing youth was recovered from pool in forest area of Doribal Qaziabad”, family stated.
Demanding justice and identification of killers, the victim family said that they want identification of the killers and stern action against the murderers who killed our innocent family member.
“After medico-legal formalities of the body, he was brought to his native village where his last rites were performed”, an eye witness said.
“We smell conspiracy into the killing, we impress upon police officials to take the investigation into the incident to its conclusion so that perpetrators of the crime will be taken to task”, family members said.
Police has already taken note of the incident and registered a case under relevant sections of law.
“We are investigating each and every angle of the incident so that reality will be unboxed”, a police official told KNS.
However he didn’t divulge further revelations of the case and said once investigations will be completed, details would be shared accordingly. (KNS)
