People of Srinagar in particular and in Kashmir valley in general should stay safe and stay indoors as coronavirus has infected a lot of people in the recent past.

Hundreds of cases were reported on a daily basis as coronavirus positive soon after the government lifted lockdown a few weeks back. Authorities were forced by the surge in coronavirus positive cases to re-impose lockdown and they have feeled major portions of Srinagar city to keep people indoors and away from the viral infection.

It is the collective responsibility of society at large to understand the gravity of this growing and spreading infection. Common people should seriously adhere to the SOP’s and guidelines given by the government to minimize the chances of coronavirus infection.

Every containment zone in Srinagar city had been sealed at 300 to 500 meters from spots where COVID-19 cases have been detected and entries and exits of all these areas were being manned to ensure strict enforcement of restrictions on movement into and out of them.

Srinagar administration is exploring possibilities of installing surveillance cameras at entries and exits of these areas to ensure there are no violations of fresh lockdown imposed by them.

Their connection with the central control room established at the Deputy Commissioner office once installed was also being explored with an aim to ensure effective enforcement of containment plan through its monitoring at more than one level.

The administration has issued orders for cancelling of all leaves of government officials in the district and are calling them for duties.
