Begum Shere kashmir’s role towards Girls education unparalleled in today’s world: Khalida Shah

ANC president Begum Khalida Shah on Saturday said today’s younger generation is totally unaware of the contribution of Mader-e -Meherban towards the education, in particular of Girls from every strata of society.
In a statement issued to KNS, Shah said, She went from door to door to educate the masses & put pressure on them to send their girls for schooling. During those times in the late 30’s educating the girl child particularly in the Muslim households was unheard off.
She also siad It was her belief that girls needed to be educated, firstly for financial independence & secondly so that as mother’s they became capable to raise their children to face all the challenges of life. This was stated by ANC President while paying tributes to her mother Begum Sheikh Mohd Abdullah on her 20 th death anniversary today at Srinagar.
Begum Khalida Shah, the eldest of the five children of Made -e -Meherban while paying floral tributes to her mother recollecting the huge sacrifices made by her towards the upliftmeant of the poorest classes of our society in J&K State & said that it was Begum Sahiba’s total belief in the AlMigjty & her sheer courage & dedication that she led the state & her party from the front during the very rough & challenging times during the incarceration of Sherekashmir & his colleagues for 22 years alongside performing her duties as a mother splendidly in raising her children. She displayed extraordinary leadership qualities & became a household name in the entire state where people revered & showered affection on her till her last breath.
The ANC President prayed for Magfirat to her late mother.
Earlier, ANC Sr Vis President Mr Muzzafar Shah along with his senior party colleagues visited the Moseleum of his grand mother on the banks of the Dal lake at Niven & offered Fateh at the site.(KNS)
