Pune Man Wears Gold Mask Worth Nearly Rs 3 Lakh

From costly masks to easily-available cheap masks or from towels to scarves, people are taking precautions and covering their nose and mouth, as per WHO guidelines, to stay safe from the Coronavirus.

But Shankar Kurade, a resident of Maharashtra’s Pune has gone a step further. A man who loves gold ornaments, Kurade got himself a mask made of gold. The mask is worth Rs 2.89 lakh, he says.

Kurade, who lives in Pimpri-Chinchwad of Pune district, says the mask has thin minute holes so that the air passes through.

“There’s no difficulty in breathing,” he says.

But Kurade says he is not sure if the mask will be effective against Coronavirus.

Kurade is fond of gold ornaments and one can often spot him wearing rings, bracelets and a heavy chains around his neck — all gold.

Whether the mask is effective against deadly Coronavirus or not, the mask has certainly generated a lot of laughter and amusement on social media.
