Tangdar sarpanchs stages protest against RDD
The elected sarpanch of various panchayats protest here in Tanghdar against Rural development daprtment of being mismanagement muddles and discrimination over distributions of works under MGNREGA and 14th FC.
The protester Sarpanch said department fail to provide work to labours under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNEGA) labour law and a social security measure facilitates ‘right to work’ through various panyats level schemes.
The elected sarpanchs of various panchayats of Block Tanghdar accuse that the sensitive flagship scheme of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee (MGNREGA) handled by the RDD has continuously been mishandled , mismanaged in Tanghdar Block. The basis and the rationale behind this scheme is to provide employment of 100 (guaranteed) days to the identified eligible beneficiaries in the rural sector and when employment are not paid to them, it defeats the very purpose of the scheme. Panchas and Sarpanchs are protesting against the mess created in their panchayats by the Rural development department (RDD) in respect of the entire spectrum of MGNREGA. they said that due to pandamic , the labourers who earn wages on daily basis could not find a way out to supplement their earning, and it is in this perspective the Union Government issued directions for resumption of MGNREGA activities with some SoPs. Pursuant to these directions, the Union Territory of J&K also conveyed for resumption of MGNREGA but unfortunetly due to mishandling department fail to privide employment to labours in various panchayats of Tanghdar Block.
When Kashmir News service (KNS) contacted to Block development officer (BDO) Tanghdar he assured that all the eligible beneficiaries will get works he said due to pandamic the work for financial years 2020-21 has delayed he said the
besides completion of the ongoing works, various new works including Irrigation related, land development, PMAY units, etc have been taken up for execution.(KNS)
