Two injured in cross-LoC shelling in Uri

SRINAGAR: Two civilians were injured after India and Pakistan armies exchange fire along the LoC in Uri town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday.

Locals said that two civilians identified as Maqbool Ah Mangral and Ahmad Sheikh sustained splinter injuries in the shelling Nambla village in Uri sector.

Both the injured, having multiple splinter injuries, were rushed to the sub-district hospital Uri for the treatment.

The heavy shelling has caused panic in the villages near LoC in Uri sector.

The firing started early morning and has continued since in the Uri sector. Indian troops have retaliated to firing, said an official.
