Indian and Chinese armies are locked in a standoff which will take more time according to security experts to ease. Many of them have doubts about the intentions of Chinese army as they have expressed such doubts in series of television programmes aired from New Delhi. These security experts have said that, China will not invest so much and make such a military buildup without any proper planning.
There doubts are based on the facts that just for a standoff or to convey any message to India they will not go for such a heavy buildup mobilizing thousands of troops in eastern Ladakh in some parts of Sikkim.
Many of the experts have said that government of India should have anticipated such situation on August 5, 2019, when Union Home Minister Amit Shah told in parliament that he was duty bound by the constitution to bring back all the occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir including Aksai chin.
These experts have in various write ups and programmes expressed their opinion that post August 5, 2019, New Delhi must factor in the growing shadows of China especially in the backdrop of repeated threats to Pakistan that they will soon enter into POK and make it part of Jammu and Kashmir.
Being strategically important, POK especially Gilgit, Baltistan have lot of stakes not only for Pakistan but for the China also because of the under construction of economic corridor. China wants to secure this corridor from the growing threats of India and the security experts have been warning about the reaction of China on the borders of Ladakh and Sikkim.
In such a situation with such backdrop, it is unlikely that the standoff between India and China will be resolved soon. Even if it is resolved, China may give a surprise in near future as they have lot of things at stake especially in Gilgit, Baltistan and in the eastern portion of Ladakh.
