JKPCC Vice President seeks quality supply of pesticides, seeks compensation to affected growers

Srinagar June 4, (KNS): The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Vice President & former legislator Haji Abdul Rashid Dar today expressed serious concern over the supply of substandard pesticides to growers.
In a statement, issued to KNS reads, Haji Abdul Rashid Dar asserted that the growers in Sopore and elsewhere in Kashmir valley were reportedly supplied substandard pesticides exposing the production to grave threat, which is matter of serious concern to growers.
PCC Vice President urged the Horticulture Department to keep a check on supply and ensure standard quality of pesticides to growers, as that will only avoid the losses, he said.
He also urged the Divisional Administration to assess the losses caused to orchards and agriculture land due to hailstorm in Kashmir, leaving people in very difficult situation, he said
I would emphasis the Govt to provide compensation to affected people enabling them to sustain their family, PCC Vice President added. (KNS)
