Srinagar, June 02, (KNS): Cluster University students on Tuesday appealed authorities to revisit its decision of conducting exams of 6th semester in upcoming July and demanded 50 percent syllabus relaxation and adequate transport facility to students if decision not to be revoked.
Ishfaq Ahmad Shah, studying in AS College Srinagar told KNS that in wake of uncertain situation of Covid-19, authorities on June 1st, 2020 passed orders for conducting exams of 6th semester which seemed the decision was taken in haste and without taking all pros and cons into account.
He said at a time when Covid-19 has badly hit all affairs across J&K and prompted administration to suspend all activities, how come it is possible to conduct exams when there is a threat of spreading virus if social distancing norms are not properly followed.
He added that in wake of lockdown, how can students reach exam halls and how can they get prepared through online when high speed internet facility is out of bounds since a year. “Due to blanket ban on 4G internet services across J&K, we are unable to download PDF files. The ban on high-speed internet service has badly ruined our future”, Ishfaq added.
Besides Ishfaq, several students also complained of same things and appealed authorities to provide adequate transport facilities and 50% relaxation in syllabus if decision of conducting exam in June this year not be revisited. (KNS)
