All the appeals at the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr to authorities for the restoration of 4G services have not worked. There have been frequent disruptions in slow speed 2G services also in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir. As the government has indicated that they will reopen schools and educational institutions in Kashmir, chances of restoration of 4G services seem slim.

Fresh hopes were generated before Eid when important BJP leader and in charge of JK affairs Ram Madhav in a national daily advocated for the restoration of 4G services in Kashmir. He said that people of Kashmir have exercised patience in the past 10 months and deserve high speed internet services.

After the appearance of his right up in the national daily in Kashmir valley it seemed to analysts and media persons that on Eid authorities will restore 4G services. Many days have passed and the administration has giving no indication for the restoration of 4G in Jammu and Kashmir.

Education and medical services have suffered lot in the past 10 months due to the disruption in internet and subsequent low speed. Education wing of Kashmir has already told media that they were looking for ways and means to reopen schools an educational institutions as on 2G speed virtual classrooms have not been a success.

In such atmosphere, student community in Kashmir valley want authorities to take a decision as early as possible whether they have to reopen the schools or restore 4G Services. Student’s community has all the reasons to be worried as in the Srinagar district even the 2G services were disrupted for 10 days before Eid. Even virtual class rooms could not be held due to complete disruption of internet services in Srinagar.

Earlier, in Pulwama district also, 2G services were suspended for more than a week inflicting lot of anxiety among the students as they could not get any information about the education and the classes. In such atmosphere it is the duty of authorities to address this problem as soon as possible so that the students of the Kashmir Valley are out of rut and start their lives without disruptions and frequent communication blockades.
