With the tragic death of 75-year-old man from Jammu on Wednesday, it became the 11th death due to novel coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir. Although the government has taken all the precautionary measures in Jammu region to combat coronavirus, but the infection is far from over.

Medical Superintendent GMC Jammu told media that the man was brought dead. However he said that under protocol when his samples were taken, it was found that he was COVID positive.

In Jammu region the authorities are trying their best to stop the people from entering into Jammu without undergoing tests. Government has established quarantine centers at Lakhanpur, Samba, Kathua etc. to keep people under quarantine before sending them back. But despite all these measures, people are getting infected with coronavirus and the lockdown with restrictions is not showing the desired results on ground.

Recently government has allowed people to come back into Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir from different parts and many of them have tested positive.

The spike of coronavirus infection in Kulgam district is due to the arrival of laborers who were for winters outside the valley. It is big test for JK administration to withstand the challenge posed by arrival of thousands of people including students back here.

Home quarantine is the best way out for such people who are arriving back via trains and vehicles. But even for the tests they are being stopped for days together at Lakhanpur and Samba without any reason.
