In South Kashmir, another women died due to the alleged negligence of doctors on Sunday as it is the second incident of such nature in the past two weeks.
The alleged medical negligence led to the death of a pregnant women on Sunday and it is the matter of investigation for the officials to fix the responsibility.
But most shameful was the alleged denial of the ambulance to the family to carry the body back home, the matter came to the surface when the video clip went viral on social media while showing the body of the pregnant woman on a stretcher on the deserted roads of South Kashmir.
According to the media reports the victim was moved to the Maternity and Child Care Hospital (MCCH) in Anantnag from sub-district hospital on Sunday morning after she was referred to the larger hospital. Her family alleged delay in her treatment at both the hospitals. Officials say she was declared brought dead at second hospital.
While the officials, claimed that her body was taken away by the family without completing the formalities because they feared that they might have to wait long for the burial if her sample was taken for COVID-19 testing, the family of the victim has denied any such claim of the officials.
Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, health system for the critical care and the maternity in Kashmir has taken a serious hit as non COVID patients are not being treated or even touched in the hospitals due to the lack of PPE’s and other equipment, doctors and paramedical staff try to avoid contact, resulting in tragic deaths.
