Curfew like restrictions in Srinagar on Saturday

District Magistrate Srinagar Shahid Iqbal choudhary has said that restrictions would be implemented on Saturday with all force and strict panel action would be taken against the violators.

After a high level meeting in Srinagar it was decided to put in place visible number of police and paramilitary personnel to enforce restrictions as the government wants people to stay indoors in order to save them from COVID-19 virus.

Reports said that the barbed wires were being put in place along with barricades at different points in Srinagar city by the authorities late night.

Reports said that police has been instructed not to allow any private vehicle to cross the barricades except belonging to essential service. Police has been also instructed not to allow vehicles from other districts to enter Srinagar city. Government is very serious to enforcing the restrictions after the elderly woman from Khanyar locality tested positive after she came back from the Saudi Arabia.
