KU authorities issue advisory though late

The Dean Colleges Development Council (DCDC) of Kashmir University (KU) on Saturday issued an advisory, though late asking all the government and private colleges being run in Kashmir to take all the preventive steps so that COVID-19 does not spread among the students of these institutions.
University authorities remained silent for the crucial days in the recent past allowing the gathering including seminars and other activities in these institutions. Now the advisory issued by (DCDC) of University of Kashmir says that the colleges should postpone all seminars, conferences, workshops and events involving large gatherings, scheduled this month.
University authority has asked the management of these institutions to report to the nearest health centre about any student, scholar or staff with the travel history of going to the infected countries in the last 28 days.
“All Principals of College, Directors of the institutions intending to take field trips, study tours, picnics shall defer such programmes till further orders,” the fresh advisory of (DCDC) said
It is in place to mention that registrar of University of Kashmir earlier issued an advisory for all campuses and staff to take preventive measures to avoid spread of COVID-19. Class work is already suspended in all the universities of Jammu and Kashmir till March 31, 2020.
