Coronavirus threat: Helpline, control rooms set up in Baramulla
BARAMULLA, MARCH 09: District administration Baramulla today established round-the-clock helpline to disseminate awareness among the people about the novel coronavirus.
The helpline shall work under the supervision of Medical Superintendent Associated Hospital Baramulla Dr Syed Masood with the contact numbers 7006231150 besides having Dr Zulfikar Nabi with the contact number 9419038139 as the second member.
General public has been asked to contact on the aforementioned numbers in case of any enquiry about the coronavirus.
Deputy Commissioner Baramulla also established 24×7 control rooms at different levels. At district level, various experts have been designated to assist people in case of any exigency.
The district level control room comprises Dr Nasir Ahmad Khan, HOD Medicine (9797136100), Dr Junaid HOD Microbiology (8803018578), Haseeba DEO IDSP (9622631727), Shaista Akther DEO (9906647212), Shaista Shafi DEO(9858337898), Dr Mir Wasim Nodal Officer COVID-19 (7006024498), Dr Maqbool Epidemiologist (7006341667) and Dr Adil Medical Officer MMU (7006587329).
The experts can be contacted on rotational basis with first four from 9 am to 3 pm while the later ones from 3 pm to 9 am. People have been asked to contact on these numbers strictly as per the roaster schedule. The control room shall work under the supervision of Medical Superintendent Associated Hospital Baramulla Dr Syed Masood.
Moreover, committees have been constituted at Block and Village levels also. The village level teams consist of Sarpanchs/Panch, Asha/Anganwardi workers, and Numberdar/Chowkidar as members. The village-level surveillance teams shall be responsible to give information on a daily basis about the cases which come into their notice particularly those who have returned from foreign travel from last one month to the nearest in-charge PHC who shall submit the consolidated information to the BMO concerned.
Meanwhile DC Baramulla has appealed the general public to avoid public gatherings so that the risk of spreading infection is mitigated.
