Administration in UT in Jammu and Kashmir is trying to sort out the growing threat of corona virus. Recently dozens of people were suspected to carry this virus in Jammu and Kashmir but so far none of them has been reported as positive. Many such cases are still under the watch list of medical authorities as final medical reports are still pending. It is a fact that, lot of people travel outside from Kashmir valley including thousands of students and many of them could carry this virus to this place also.

Urging Public to not panic, administration has assured that entire administrative machinery including health machinery has been further activated and is in a state of full alert and all facilities as required are being put in place.

“100 per cent self declarations at the airports of Jammu and Srinagar will start very soon to trace any such traveller having travel history to the infected countries. Further, check points for passengers travelling by road have been set up at Lakhanpur and Lower Munda (Zig) to identify individuals with travel history to these countries”, are some of the measures taken by the authorities here.

LG Murmu has directed the authorities to set up 24×7 Data Control Centres  at Srinagar and Jammu to receive the information of travelers coming from the affected countries and to receive information from the Government of India to further transmit the same to the districts for their tracing at the earliest. Due to the strict orders, medical authorities have said that all suspected cases are being managed through the defined protocols.

Administration has assured the people not to be panic as everything was put in place in both Jammu and Srinagar in order to trace any such traveler who has entered into the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in the recent past.
