Two injured in cross LoC firing in Poonch

Two persons were injured after armies of India and Pakistan resorted to cross border shelling and firing on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district.

An official said that the Pakistani army opened fire and used mortar shells on the Indian army’s posts in Kirni, Qasba and Shahpura areas.

He said that the soldiers manning the fence responded strongly. After the brief exchange of fire two civilians were injured when some shells fell in the civilian areas.

The shelling and firing has triggered panic in border areas in the district, they said.

He said that the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.
