Public Grievance Camp
Lt. Governor Murmu recently told his administration to become responsive to the needs of the public. Such directions from the top came after, post snowfall scenario prevailing in Kashmir valley especially in rural areas.
People have been left to fend for themselves to face the difficulties due to the frequent closure of highway and also due to post snowfall problems. In the severe winter even during the evening hour’s people of Srinagar city had to wait for hours to get the cooking gas cylinders as the trucks filled with this essential supply, distributed the gas at different places during sunset.
All these problems piled up in Srinagar city and the administration has now decided to have a public grievance camp in the city so that they can redress the grievances of common people without any further delay.
Recently government said that they have decided to hold first public grievance camp at Banquet Hall of Srinagar on Monday, to redress the grievances of common people.
According to official communication to media people can register their grievance and developmental issues during the daylong camp.
This is a good beginning but such grievance camps should be organized all across Jammu and Kashmir and the frequency should be at least weekly basis. It needs also lot of publicity on all the mediums of communication including through television and radio so that more and more people know about such grievance camps and can file their complaints for redressal.
