Any tinkering with article 370 would be aggression on people of J&K, says Farooq after all party meeting

Srinagar: An emergency all party meeting was held at the residence of Farooq Abdullah and it was unanimously decided that there would be a united response to any attempt by New Delhi to dilute special status of J&K State.

Farooq Abdullah in a press conference after the meeting read the all party unanimous decision about the growing uncertainty and troop security build up in Kashmir. Farooq Abdullah appealed people of Jammu and Kashmir to remain patient and not lose their cool as he said these were trying times.

He said that any tinkering with article 370 and article 35-A would be resorted as aggression by New Delhi against the people of Kashmir. Farooq appealed both India and Pakistan not to be in aggressive mode but sit on the table and negotiate peaceful settlement of Kashmir. Farooq said that guns cannot solve Kashmir but negotiation can benefit all including the J&K. He said that all the mainstream parties together in a delegation will meet President of India and Prime Minister of India to request them not to fiddle with article 370 or any constitutional provision which gives special status to the state.

The all party meeting was attended by Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti, Muzaffar Beigh, Sajad Lone Imran Raza Ansari and representative of all the mainstream political party of J&K except BJP.
