Another batch of 3,060 pilgrims leave Jammu for Amarnath Yatra in Kashmir
Srinagar : A fresh batch of 3,060 pilgrims on Tuesday left Jammu for the Kashmir Valley to perform the ongoing Amarnath Yatra, an official said.
The yatris left Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in two escorted convoy of vehicles. “This includes yatris going to both Baltal and Pahalgam base camps,” he said.
The 45-day long annual Amarnath Yatra which started on July 1 has been going on smoothly. Till date, over 2,85,381 pilgrims have paid their obeisance at Amarnath cave.
More pilgrims have visited the cave shrine so far in 2019. During last year’s Yatra of 60 days, the total number of pilgrims who visited Holy Cave Shrine was 2,85,006, whereas this year the pilgrimage has crossed this number in 22 days.
The 45-day Amarnath Yatra will end on August 15, coinciding with the Shravan Purnima
