Army Soldier Injured In Cross-LoC Shelling In Poonch
POONCH — An Army soldier was injured in cross-LoC shelling in Krishana Ghati Sector of Mendhar in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.
A police officer said Pakistani army opened fire and used mortar shells upon Indian posts in Krishna Ghati Sector today morning adding that the fire was responded strongly triggering off cross-LoC shelling, reported news agency GNS.
In the incident one army soldier sustained injuries and was immediately evacuated to nearby military hospital for treatment, he said.
When reports last came in, the exchange of shelling was going on in the area.
Pertinently, three civilians were injured last night in cross-border firing in Shahpur sector, the officer said.
He identified the injured as Raziea Bi daughter of Nazir Hussain of Shahpur and Maryam daughter of Mohd Bashir of Kankote and Mohd Akbar (army porter) son of Shah Mohd of Kayian, Shahpur.
Reports said that six residential houses also got damaged during the shelling. Agencies
