Clashes erupt during CASO in Karimabad Pulwama; operation called off
Srinagar : Clashes broke out between the government forces and people in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) launched by government forces on wee hours of Tuesday morning.
Reports said that following specific inputs about the presence of militants, a joint team of government forces had launched an operation in Bongam area of Karimabad village. Soon after the searches were launched, a group of youth assembled near the site and pelted stones of government forces triggering clashes.
The forces, the official said, responded by firing pellets and tear smoke shells.
The operation, however, was later called off as no militant was found in the area, the official added.
