Kashmir shuts to mourn civilian, militant killings
Srinagar:A complete shutdown is being observed in Kashmir following a separatist’s shutdown call against the recent killings in Kashmir.
All the shops and other business establishments are closed across the valley, however, a thin movement of traffic is seen on roads.
Earlier, five militants, two civilians and two army men were killed in separate gunfights in south Kashmir’s Pulwama and Shopian districts on Thursday.
The slain militants killed in Pulwama gunfight were identified as Naseer Ahmad Pandith of Karimabad, Pulwama, Umar Ahmad Mir of Barthipora, Shopian and Khalid, a JeM commander, from Pakistan. The deceased civilian was identified as Rayees Ahmad Dar.
The slain militants killed in Shopian gunfight were identified as Yawar Mushtaq, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Dar of Thokerpora, Shopian and Shakeel Ahmad Dar, son Abdul Gani Dar of Tukroo, Shopian.
The slain civilian was identified as Ishtiyaq Ahmad Bhat, son of Muhammad Dawood of Handew Shopian.
