South Kashmir: Curfew imposed in Pulwama, shutdown in Shopian
Srinagar : Following an encounter in Dalipora Pulwama which ended with the killing of three militants, army man and a civilian on Thursday early morning, a curfew has been imposed in the district to maintain the law and order situation in the district.
The three slain militants killed in Delipora gunfight were identified as Naseer Pandith of Kareemabad Pulwama, Umar Mir of Shopian and Khalid from Pakistan. An army man identified as Sepoy Sandeep was also killed and a civilian namely Rayees Dar lost his life.
Reports said that soon after the encounter ended, a curfew was imposed in the district to maintain the law and order situation.
As one of the slain militant belongs to neighbouring district Shopian, a complete shutdown is being observed in the district. Reports said that all the shops and other business establishments are closed in most parts of the district and traffic is off the roads.
