Kashmir highway closed after fresh landslides, thousands stranded
Srinagar: Kashmir highway was closed for traffic on Tuesday following landslides and shooting stones at Digdol in Ramban.
A traffic official said that the fresh landslide occurred at the Digdol causing an inconvenience to traffic movement.
He said thousands of people were stranded on the highway because of the slide.
“It is requested that there should be no movement from Jammu to Srinagar on National Highway. Public is requested not to travel on National highway as it will not be possible to allow them on the highway,” said the SSP, adding they were trying clear the stranded vehicles first.
He said the restoration work was going on but continous shooting stones were hampering the clearance work.
