Governor’s administration has taken slew of measures to boost the culture of employment in the private sector and in this direction Industries and Commerce Department has been on the forefront for the prompt industrial growth in Kashmir Valley. Recently a high level official meeting was held in which different wings of the government participated and gave their ideas to the administration to streamline the process of functioning so that industrial growth becomes real.
The Governor’s administration has directed the officials to ensure proper upkeep of departmental assets and industrial estates .He also asked them to monitor the progress of languishing projects on a daily basis and pace up work on them for their timely completion. Various officials visited various places to inspect the assets of the department and took the first-hand appraisal of the functioning of the manufacturing units where he directed for maintenance of industrial estates and stressed on capacity building of employees of the department through regular training programmes.
The Silk Factory Raj Bagh is one of the industrial units which need the attention of the authorities they will have to take lot of efforts to promote the products being made at the factory at a wider scale. They should also do the promotion of the products through social media and development of e-commerce platforms for marketing of local handicrafts.
Similarly, Government Arts Emporium near TRC is not getting the do attention of the authorities. Similarly, artisans of School of Design at Kashmir Haat need lot of encouragement from the government so that their products are sold in the wider market throughout the world.
