Hundreds of families in Tangmarg Aharbal without drinking water

Kulgam: Hundreds of families in Tangmarg, Doba and other adjoining areas of famous health resort are without proper drinking water because of defunct of water supply scheme in the area. The water supply scheme to the area is defunct from the month of December. The residents of the area said that they approached the concerned PHE officials, but so far nothing is been done to restore the water supply to the affected villages.
With the result, the villagers have now fears that as the summer is approaching, they are fetching th
e water from the nearby nallah and other sources of water which have the possibility of having contamination. They have appealed Deputy Commissioner Kulgam and Executive Engineer PHE of Kulgam district to look into the matter and save their children from the water-borne diseases as they are being forced to cook and feed their families by the contaminated water.
