JRL calls for valleywide shutdown tomorrow, on polling days in respective areas
Srinagar Joint Resistance leadership (JRL) comprising of Hurriyat (G) led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Hurriyat (M) led by Mirwaiz Muhammad Umer Farooq and Jammu Kashmir liberation front (JKLF) has called for a complete shut down on Thursday, April 11, 2019.
The spokesman said that tomorrow’s complete shutdown (Hartal) is against the parliamentary elections that are going to start from tomorrow from Baramullah parliamentary constituency, against NIA “aggression” which includes the shifting of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik to Tihar jail Delhi under the pretext of questioning by NIA, rigorous questioning of Mirwaiz Muhammad Umar Farooq at NIA headquarters in Delhi that has continued for three days now.
The shutdown is also against interrogation and repeated summoning of two Sons of senior separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani namely Naeem-uz-Zafar Geelani and Naseem Geelani to Delhi by NIA, closure of Kashmirs main highway for civilians for two days in a weak and recent attack by police and forces on inmates at central jail Srinagar in which many inmates sustained bullet and pellet injuries and many have been shifted to unknown jails and interrogation centre.
While appealing people to stay away from upcoming parliamentary polls, JRL has said that besides a complete shutdown across the valley on April 11, 2019 shutdowns (protest strike) will be observed on April 18, 2019 in Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal districts, on April 23, 2019 in Islamabad, on April 29, in Islamabad and Kulgam and on May 6, 2019 in Islamabad, Shupian and Pulwama areas.
