People Urges Govt to reconsider decision to ban traffic movement on highway
Srinagar ): Resident of the south Kashmir termed the move to ban the movement of the civilians Srinagar – Jammu highway for two day a week as ‘Dictatorship of the government ’ to attack the freedom of the common masses.
Various senior citizens, civil societies, intellectuals and others appealed the administration to review the decision as it will create the problems to the civilians and will badly impact the patients, students and the employees, the decision will only fuel to the hostile situation in valley.
Talking to Kashmir News Bureau, Nisar Ahmad a local Youth from Pampore area said, “The decision is totally unconstitutional and is direct attack on the fundamental freedom of citizens, if any emergency happens especially the medical emergency one has to visit the local administration to get the pass which may take hours or even days and can prove fatal, which indicates the seriousness of the government of India towards the Kashmiris.”
“It is totally unconstitutional and army is behaving as the extra constitutional authority, it will destroy the education scenario of the valley as the class work will get halted and the administration is directly responsible for ruining the career of the students, as it is an ideological terrorism and fascist approach to push the Kashmiri’s to the wall “G N Var president of private school association said.”
“He added that it is an additional order prior to the decision to ban the civilian movement on the highway after the Pulwama attack which means that the school busses cannot ply on the highway”
Pertinently, the government of Jammu and Kashmir issued an order to dedicate two days every week viz Sunday and Wednesday for movement of the security convoy, and prohibiting any civilian traffic movement on national highway Baramulla through Srinagar, Qazigund, Jawahar tunnel, Banihal, and Ramban till Udhampur from 4 AM to 5 PM from 03 04 2019 till 1st of June , citing the prevailing security situation and to ensure the security of SFs as also to civilian traffic to safeguard human life.
