For thousands of villagers, only J&K Bank D.H. Pora branch

D.H.Pora: This reporter witnessed long queues outside the Jammu and Kashmir Bank of D.H.Pora Kulgam. This bank branch is catering to the needs of thousands of villagers who are living around it. According to the locals this is the only branch of Jammu and Kashmir Bank for more than few dozen villages.
According to the locals who were present waiting for their turn in the D.H.Pora branch of J&K Bank, they had to travel 10 to 15 kilometres and have to give the whole day in the bank even for a small transaction to the tune of Rs 500. Among those who were waiting for hours in the branch of D.H. Pora included aged women, men and many girls.
According to the locals they have appealed the higher authorities of J&K Bank for the more branches in the area but this is the single branch catering to the needs of thousands of people in the area. The villages which have to use only this branch because of lack of any other J&K Bank branch in the area include K.P. Pora, Nandimarg, Yarikhah, Baniward, Soipathri, Batpora, Warpora etc.
