Restrictions in Srinagar on Sunday, rumours high governor appeals for calm

Authorities have decided to impose restrictions in Srinagar city today after joint Resistance Leadership has given bandh call against the mass arrests and attempt by central government to temper with article 35A. Police said that restrictions will be in force in jurisdiction of police stations of old Srinagar city like Nowhatta, raniawari. Safakadal and khaniyar .

Governor satya pal malik has appealed people not to fall prey to rumours and said that deployment of security forces was part of the exercise to prepare for the polls in Jammu and Kashmir state. He said that there was no truth in these rumours and said that arrest of separatists was a routine police job and appealed people not to read more in it.

It is in place to mention that series of government orders on saturday coupled with airlifting of 100 additional paramilitary companies to Srinagar resulted in panic with people going to markets to buy essential items.
