Ranji Trophy: Odisha Beats Jammu & Kashmir By 8 Wickets
Jammu: Riding on the batting success of Subhransu Senapati and Shantanu Mishra Odisha lodged a massive victory over Jammu & Kashmir in a Round 7 Elite Group C Match here by defeating the host by eight wickets.
The match, which was played at the Gandhi Memorial Science College Ground witnessed a brilliant performance from Jammu & Kashmir skipper Parvez Rasool whose brilliant knock of 125 not out in the second innings of the match. Due to Rasool the host team put up a total of 323 and set a target of 197 for Odisha to win.
However, the target was proved very easy to chase for Odisha batsmen after Subhransu Senapati slammed an unbeaten 72 along with Shantanu Mishra’s thrilling 78 off 147 balls. Govinda Poddar gave a decisive contribution through his 20 runs off nine balls in the concluding part of the game.
Odisha achieved the victory target in 49.1 Overs with the loss of two wickets.
Earlier, in the first innings, J&k got bundled out for 127, in reply to which Odisha scored 323 runs.
