Kargil Observed Shut Down over University Issue, demands full-fledged University in Ladakh region

Kargil;A Complete Shutdown was observed today in Kargil over the University for Ladakh issue. This call of strike was given by the Students Educational Movement (SEMOK) of Kargil which was supported by the influential religious ogranisations like Anjuman e Jamita e Ulema Isna Ashariya Kargil and Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust.

Despite of harsh cold all students organised at main Bazar kargil during which the representatives of both the religious organisations addressed to the gathering. Extending the full support to the students, the representatives also demanded a university for Ladakh Region in Kargil.

The students carry the placards in which indicating a map of J&K and in Ladakh portion there is indicate no university.

Meanwhile, delivering speech, the SEMOK representatives highlighted the importance and need of  a university in Ladakh region . They also highlighted the issues and problems of the students who are already pursuing their higher studies outside Ladakh.

Senior Advocate Ghulam Murtaza was also present on the occasion and he stated that the students of Ladakh are suffering more in outside Ladakh .

However the demand of a University for Ladakh in Kargil was also supported by the J&K Chairman Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali ,CEC & EC’s of LAHDC Kargil through various statements .
