Srinagar: Kashmiri Sikh Community Monday held a protest demonstration in Srinagar demanding revocation of SRO-425 in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Sikhs from various districts of Kashmir valley assembled under the banner of Kashmir Sikh community.

They held placards and banners which had slogans such as: “SRO- 425 total injustice with Kashmiri Sikhs”, ” Stop Favouritism”, “Do Justice of equality”, “Stop discrimination with Kashmiri Sikhs” and “We Want Justice”.

One of the protesters, advocate Bikramdeep Singh said that in 2009, under the Prime Minister of India’s package approximately 3000 posts were created for migrants.

“Out of 3000 posts, 500 posts were kept reserved for Kashmiri minorities who had not migrated from the valley. But (as of 2017) the Jammu and Kashmir government has amended that cabinet order to posts being reserved to non-migrant Kashmiri Pandit families.”
