Six injured in fresh clashes at Shopian in South Kashmir

At least six persons injured in fresh clashes between youth and the government forces in Shirmal village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district after forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation in the area.
As per reports, during the exercise of the door to door search in Shirmal village of the district, scores of the locals started throwing stones at government forces. Eyewitnesses over the phone said that many residents received minor injuries during the clashes.
Earlier, almost ten villages of the district that include Lassipora, Armula, Alaipora, Batnoor, Garbug, Naupora Paeen, Hajdar Pora and Acchan, were under CASO. However, it was not immediately known if the operation was launched on the basis of inputs about the militants or a daily routine exercise.
On Friday, three policemen were abducted and then killed in two villages of the district by suspected militants.
