Kashmir shuts on JRL’s call against Kulgam militant, civilian killings
Srinagar, : Complete shutdown called by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Shah Geelani the Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman, Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq the Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman and Mohammad Yaseen Malik the JKLF Chairman against the killing of five militants in a gunfight and a civilian in post gun fight clashes in Chowgam village of Kulgam district in South Kashmir on last Saturday crippled normal life across Kashmir Monday.
‘With shops and business establishments shut, schools and colleges closed and passenger traffic off the roads the normal life has crippled across Kashmir’, said the reports emanating from different parts of Kashmir valley.
Police and paramilitary CRPF men have been deployed in strength in some uptown areas and old city parts of Srinagar city to foil the attempts of protests against the killing of five militants and a civilian in Kulgam district two days back.
Shutdown in Anantnag and Kulgam district of south Kashmir against the killing of five militants and a civilian is continuing for the third consecutive day on Monday.
Train services have been suspended and Kashmir University has suspended all the examinations which were scheduled to be held on Monday.
