Resolve Kashmir through dialogue and trade: Imran Khan
SRINAGAR:In his second tweet since assuming office as Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan reiterated his offer of dialogue to India terming it the only way forward to resolve all outstanding disputes including Kashmir.
“To move forward Pakistan and India must dialogue and resolve their conflicts incl Kashmir: The best way to alleviate poverty and uplift the people of the subcontinent is to resolve our differences through dialogue and start trading,” Imran Khan twitted.
On Monday, new Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, in his first press conference, said, Pakistan looks forward to a mutually beneficial, uninterrupted dialogue with India.
Interestingly, Qureshi claimed that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made an offer of dialogue to Imran Khan in a letter. But Qureshi’s claim was denied by India saying that the letter was to congratulate Khan on assuming PM’s office. Later, Pakistan’s Foreign Office clarified Qureshi’s claim denying any such offer.
But Imran Khan’s second tweet underscores his seriousness of engaging with India in talks to resolve all outstanding issues including Kashmir.
