Don’t panic, Divisional administration to people
The divisional administration has asked people living in low-lying areas to remain alert in view of flooding following incessant rains in the state.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Khan told Greater Kashmir Online that the people need not to panic and that all arrangements have been made to meet any exigency.
“We have not asked people to evacuate for now. However, they need to remain alert and inform the administration in case there is any breach of any embankment,” he said.
Khan said that water levels have increased following incessant rains, however, there is no danger of floods of 2014-magnitude.
“Water level is receding in south Kashmir but it is increasing in Srinagar. We are monitoring the situation and all arrangements are in place,” he said, adding that they were issuing hourly advisories in view of the developing situation.
