Govt defers summer vacations in Kashmir, Jammu winter zones

Srinagar, : Government today deferred the summer vacations for the schools of Kashmir Division and winter zone of Jammu Division till further orders. In this regard an order from the office of Secretary School Education Farooq Ahmad Shah was issued today according to which the summer vacations which were announced from 2nd July to 14th July 2018 have now been deferred till further orders.
In compliance of the recent orders by the Government and the directions passed during recently held Public Grievance Darbar under the supervision of Secretary School Education Farooq Ahmad Shah regarding various issues Director School Education Kashmir, Dr. G.N. Itoo today conducted an extensive tour of District Kupwara along with District Development Commissioner Kupwara Khalid Jehangir and Chief Education Officer Kupwara Muhammad Shafi War to take stock of the Education sector.
During the tour DSEK who also holds the charge of Secretary BOSE visited under construction auditorium at Hangah Langate, Ustad Ghar, DIET Kupwara, BHSS Kupwara, the site for the construction of BOSE office and also visited many examination centres established for the conduct of 1st Term examinations.
The officers took stock of the constructions going on at these sites and visited various examination centres to take stock of the facilities being provided to the students. Pertinently by the construction of UstadGhar at Kupwara Town a long pending demand of the teachers from far flung areas of the District like Machil, Karnah, Keran and Jumagund shall be fulfilled. DSEK announced that a Children Festival will be organized in Bangus Valley soon and the students from Jammu shall also participate in the festival. Meanwhile DDC Kupwara Khalid Jehangir discussed with DSEK regarding many matters related to Education Sector and the Children festival.
Later DSEK as per the instructions from the Government issued promotion orders to Junior Assistants, Laboratory Assistants and Laboratory bearers in favour of 148 Class IV employees who have passed type test and fulfilled other criteria and also issued in-situ time bound promotion orders in favour of 409 employees of the Department.
As per the statistics provided by Media and Publication Wing DSEK,more than 5500 employees have been granted in-situ time bound promotion from last few months. Talking to State Media Centre Education, SIE Kashmir they said that the Class IV promoteesbelong to Anantnag, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Pulwama and Budgam Districts. Pertinently DSEK had assured during recently held Public Grievance Darbar that these orders shall be issued very soon.
In a statement, Director School Education Kashmir, Dr. G.N. Itoo has said that on one side the Department is making every possible effort to provide quality education to the students and to strengthen the basic infrastructure in the schools, it is also our top priority to address to that problems and matters of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the Department and there should be no delay in providing them their legitimate right. He stressed upon all the employees of the Department to perform their duties with dedication.
