Clashes erupt in Shopian village
Srinagar: Clashes between government forces and protesters erupted in D K Pora village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday after Army personnel were stoned for trying to erase graffitis and slogans from walls.
Witnesses said that an Army party reached the village and started erasing pro-freedom slogans and graffitis present on walls.
The Army party initially left the village however returned within minutes alongwith SOG men who started firing tear smoke shells.
The youth again pelted rocks on forces personnel resulting in clashes which lasted for long, they said adding however there were no reports of injuries to anyone.
