Kashmiri prisoners are scripting new history of resistance: JKDFP
Srinagar,: Expressing serious concern over the plight of prisoners including its incarcerated chief Shabir Shah, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has reiterated that Kashmir dispute needs to be resolved keeping in view its historical perspective to end all mayhem and bloodshed in Kashmir.
In a statement issued to KNS, JKDFP Secretary General Moulana Mohammad Abdullah Tari said that resolution of Kashmir dispute is a guarantee to the secure, peaceful and prosperous south Asia.
Moulana Tari expressed dismay over the current human rights situation in the disputed region and said that negative tendencies lead to the ruining of human values. He urged the need to understand the value of human lives, dignity and honour. Moulana Tari said that negative tendencies have made the Indian leadership to prolong their illegal occupation of Jammu Kashmir and it is leading to a situation where youth find no way out than to take the path of gun.
It is because of the same negative attitude that a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MP DP Vats has said “those pelting stones in Kashmir should be shot dead.” Strongly condemning the BJP leader, Moulana Tari said that such people have dominated the Indian political leadership that is why they think and act against any resolution process. However, Moulana Tari said that people like DP Vats should not be given any heed.
JKDFP Secretary General said that Kashmiri people are celebrating Eid-al-Fitr in a situation where human rights violations at the hands of the men in uniform are at its highest. We have lost hundreds of our youngsters in recent past and the occupational forces have damaged properties worth cores. Hundreds of people including JKDFP chief Shabir Shah are languishing in different jails only for advocating right to self determination.
Moulana Tari appealed people of Kashmir to held special prayers for those languishing in jails including Shabir Shah and do
whatever they can for kith and kin of the martyrs prior to Eid so that they can also celebrate Eid though without their loved ones.
Moulana Tari again expressed deep concern over the plight of detainees languishing in different jails in and outside the valley. He said that the prisoners are ill-treated for their affiliation with freedom struggle and subjected to revenge. He added that those in jails including Shabir Shah are scripting a new history of resistance. (KNS)
