Chattabal gunfight: One slain militant identified
Srinagar: One of the three militants who were killed in a gunfight in Chattabal area of Srinagar on Saturday with government has been identified as Fayaz Ahmad Hammal, a resident of Khanqah, Fateh Kadel Srinagar, reports said.
Director General of Police (DGP) SP Vaid said Hamaal was a resident of Fateh Kadal in downtown Srinagar.
Two other militants are believed to be foreigners, police said.
A spokesman said that all three militants belonged to Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit. He said incriminating material including heavy arms and ammunition was recoevered from their possession.
