Clashes in Baramulla and Ganderbal.

Clashes broke out between students of Boys degree college Baramulla and police after the students took a protest rally demanding punishment for the Kathua victim.

According to reports clashes erupt after police lobbed scores of tear gas shells to disperse the protesting students.

Reports also said that students assembled inside the college premises holding placards and banners in solidarity with Asifa who was first raped and then murdered in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, students of Degree College Ganderbal also staged a protest demonstration. The police, however, foiled the protest march.

Witnesses said that police resorted to teargas shelling to disperse the protesting students, triggering clashes in the area.

Earlier the students boycotted their classes and assembled inside the college premises to stage protest against the Kathua minor girl’s rape and murder.

The protesting students were demanding justice for eight year old girl and capital punishment for culprits.
