Kishtwar shuts against Kulgam killings
Srinagar, Muslims in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday observed a complete shutdown against the killing of four civilians in Khudwani are area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district two days ago.
All shops and other commercial establishments of the Muslim community remained closed, while traffic also remained thin on the roads.
District Police Kishtwar made an additional deployment in the town and its adjoining areas as a “precautionary measure”. The shutdown, however, was peaceful.During his Friday sermon, Imam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar, Farooq Ahmed Kitchloo, who had called the shutdown, condemned the killings and prayed for the people of Kashmir.
