SHOCKING! 1-year-old raped by neighbour in east Delhi
March 16: In yet another shocking incident, a one-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in the national capital’s Preet Vihar area on Thursday. The incident that took place on Wednesday came to light on the victim’s mother complaint to police.
The accused, identified as Aslam, reportedly took the victim to his room and committed the crime, police told PTI.
An FIR was lodged on the basis of the mother’s complaint and the accused was arrested, they said.
The incident comes nearly two months after an eight-month-old girl was raped by her 28-year-old cousin in north-west Delhi.
In that case, narrating the incident, the father, a labourer, had said, “I had left for work leaving my children at home. My wife works too. So she too left for work soon after. When she came back, she saw a blood-soaked bed and clothes of the child. When she told this to her sister-in-law, she made lame excuses. My child is in a critical condition now.”
Following the incident, a bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra had asked the Centre and the petitioner’s lawyer to file details of pending cases of sexual assault against children across the country.(Agencies)
