Family of Wamiq Farooq upset as court grants bail to accused cop
The family of Wamiq Farooq is upset as the court has granted in term bail to the cop who is an accused in the killing of the boy during the year 2010. Wamiq Farooq was allegedly killed by police in the year 2010 despite being a school going boy. Then CM Omar Abdullah allegedly tried to silence the family, when they refused. Abdullah did not respond even to family plea to file an FIR. FIR against police was lodged against the cops under the directions of court. The family fought a long battle in the court of their own and his father Farooq Ahmad Wani has been fighting the case till date for justice. Farooq Ahmad Wani told media after the grant of bail to the accused cop that the arguments put forth by their lawyer were not considered and the family will carry on fighting for justice to their son.
The mother of Wamiq Farooq after the Omar Abdullah’s suppressing tactics gave a press conference after the killing of her son and told Omar that she will give double the compensation being offered to her if the junior Abdullah will allow her to kill his son. Omar Abdullah was so much infuriated, the family of Wamiq Farooq told media that he told police and other wings of the government not to allow even an FIR in the case. Wamiq Farooq was among 124 persons killed mostly children in 2010 unrest and Omar Abdullah at that time gave free hand to police and security forces to deal with protests.
