Abdul Haq inspects ongoing works on District Court Complex Samba

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 07: Minister for Rural Development, Panchayat Raj, Law and Justice Abdul Haq Khan on Wednesday set a deadline of first week of March for completion of District Court Complex Samba project and directed the agency to expedite the pace of work to complete the works within the set deadline.

While inspecting the ongoing works on the new Court complex, the Minister asked the executing agency-J&K Police Corporation to complete the works within a month so that the project can be inaugurated.

The Minister was accompanied by Princial District and Sessions Judge RK Watal, SSP Samba and other senior officers of the Law Department.

On the occasion Minister was informed that the work is in full pace and is at the last stage of its completion. He was informed that the court complex comprising of Court rooms, bar chambers, Residential quarters, library and all other modern facilities, is being constructed at the cost of Rs 20.27 crores and is spread over an area of 32 Kanals of land.

The Minister also directed the R&B department to expedite work on the construction of an approach road and a bridge that leads to the court well before the completion of the project.

Speaking on the occasion Minister said that the Government is committed to facilitate speedy delivery of justice and steps are being taken to strengthen the judiciary for timely deliverance of justice. He said in this regard more courts have been established and steps are being taken to increase the posts of judges to reduce the pendency of cases.

He said government is also working on developing the infrastructure in courts so as to provide better facilities.

On the occasion Advocates and other Judicial staff interacted with the Minister and apprised him about their grievances. The Minister gave patient hearing to them and assured due support in addressing their problems.
