Wreath laying ceremony of Martyr HC Mushtaq Ahmad and Constable Babar Ahmad Khan held at DPL Srinagar

Srinagar, February 06: Wreath laying ceremony of Head-Constable Mushtaq Ahmad resident of Dildar Karnah and Constable Babar Ahmad Khan resident of Shangus Achabal who were martyred today at SHMS Hospital while performing their duties, was held at District Police Lines Srinagar.

ADGP Shri Munir Ahmed Khan led the police officers in laying the floral wreaths on the mortal remains of the martyrs. DIG CKR Shri Ghulam Hassan Bhat, DC Srinagar Syed Abid Hussain, SSP Srinagar Shri Imtiaz Ismail Parray and other officers of Police/CRPF/SSB were present during the ceremony.

Martyr Mushtaq Ahmad is survived by wife and an adopted minor daughter about 10 years old.

Martyr Babar Ahmad Khan is survived by wife, two daughters (aged 3 and 2 years old), father, 4 brothers and one unmarried sister.

As has been reported earlier that a police party was escorting a Pakistani prisoner namely Naveed for medical check-up at SMHS Hospital. The escorting police personnel in the hospital were fired upon by unknown terrorists resulting in injuries to two police personnel who later on succumbed to their injuries. Meanwhile the prisoner managed to escape and a manhunt to nab the terrorists has been launched.
