NC Women Wing visits shelling affected border areas

Jammu 31st January,2018:- National Conference Women Wing led by its Provincial President Smt. Satwant Kaur Dogra visited border villages of Chakroli, Sidhra, Abduliyan, Bega Bera of R.S.Pura Sector and took stock of the situation, visited the house of victims and expressed grief over the loss of life and extended sympathies with their families. She enquired about the condition of all the victims who were injured in the firing and shelling. The Provincial President was accompanied by the District President Smt. Daljeet Sharma, District Secretary Shakuntla Devi and other women wing functionaries.

            Satwant Kaur Dogra said that the people are in a state of shock and have a sense of insecurity and uncertainty. So far 14 people have laid their life, domestic animals have perished and agricultural fields have been destroyed. Basic facilities are nowhere in place and the BJP government has turned a blind eye to their problems and has left people to the mercy of God.

            “BJP has betrayed the border people by taking “U Turn” on allotment of 5 marla plots to the venerable segments of border populations by shelving the plan for allotment of plots. The  promise made by BJP during 2014 elections for allotment of 5 Marla plot have been broken and has turned out to be a hoax” said Satwant Kaur Dogra while interacting with people.

            Describing border area people as the unarmed soldiers guarding the nation who face the first bullet of the enemy, Women Wing President   demanded shelters with adequate facilities in safer zones, provision of education, medical and other civic facilities at the time of their migration besides reservation on the analogy of Line of Control residents and special recruitment drives and compensation for the land holdings beyond the border fencing as their source of sustenance has hugely been impacted. She also demanded ex-gratia of Rs. 25 lakhs each of the family of the person killed in Pak firing, Rs. 5 lakhs each to the family of the injured and employment for the next of kin of the deceased and adequate assessment based compensation for the loss of crops and cattle stock as relief and rehabilitation measures for the affected people living in the forward hamlets.

             She also interacted with the Jawans of Border Security Force and showered praise and boosted their morale for protecting our motherland with utmost valour, displaying the highest traditions of sacrifice and dedication.
